Hearing Again

Surprise, surprise! I visited the audiologist last week for a hearing test and a hearing aids tuneup. Much to my surprise (and to hers as well), we discovered that the hearing loss in my left ear has improved greatly! It has been so gradual that I didn't even notice. Sure enough, I checked it out myself by doing a phone check. Several months ago the ring of the phone sounded like staccato taps with no "ring" in my left ear. Now the phone rings again and the hearing is definitely improved. It's not as good as the right ear, but trust me, I'm grateful! The doctor, by the way, offered no suggestions as to how this improvement could have happened 20 months after the loss. But then he also offered no suggestions as to the cause, other than to rule out possibilities and conclude it was caused by a virus.
