Let it Snow!
Well, here's a switch. It's snowing here in Washington and not in Erie. What's wrong with this picture? Not only is it snowing, a lot -- as in 20+ inches -- but high winds later will create blizzard-like conditions. We are safely hunkered down at home, thank goodness, and not travelling. Driving is particularly hazardous around here where few people grew up in the snow belt and learned to drive in the stuff. The groceries are in, the bathtub is filled with emergency water supply, we have bags of batteries. I think we're all set -- as long as the power doesn't go out.

New Year! Am I resolute?
Hmmm . . . we'll see about that! This past year has been a tough one and I attribute most of it to the sudden hearing loss I experienced in October 2014. Fortunately, the hearing aids are helping, especially now that they've been tuned up, but nonetheless it has been a sobering adjustment. Though I haven't yet Googled it, I suspect that anxiety and depression and feelings of isolation are strongly associated with hearing loss. That's been my experience anyway. I recently started taking an anti-depressant and that seems to be helping. Perhaps some therapy would be useful as well. In the meantime, on to the new year, the year in which I'll turn 75, God willing and the creek don't rise. I do wish my writing muse would surface. Looks like the only solution might be to hit the Writers Center again. I need some serious prodding.
